Welcoming Everyone

Accessibility

We’re committed to making Merced and this website welcoming and usable for all visitors.

Our Commitment

Accessibility for All

Visit Merced is dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can access information about our destination.

We believe travel should be open to everyone. We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our website and to ensure it provides an inclusive experience for all users, including those who rely on assistive technologies.

How We Measure Up

Standards & Features

We aim to meet recognized accessibility guidelines and build inclusive features into the site.

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities.

Our site includes descriptive alternative text for images, keyboard-navigable menus, sufficient color contrast, responsive layouts for various devices, and clear, consistent navigation throughout.

Despite our efforts, some content particularly third-party embeds and older media may not yet be fully accessible. We are actively identifying and addressing these areas as part of our ongoing improvements.
