Amtrak San Joaquins

The Amtrak San Joaquins line stops directly in downtown Merced, making it easy to arrive car-free. Trains run daily from Sacramento, Oakland/Emeryville, and Bakersfield. The Merced station also connects to YARTS buses, so you can go from train to Yosemite without ever needing a car.

Two airports serve the Merced area, giving you flexibility whether you prefer a small regional flight or a larger hub with more options.

Merced Regional (MCE)

The closest option, right in Merced. Limited commercial service with regional connections — ideal for private aviation and charter flights.

Fresno Yosemite International (FAT)

The nearest major airport, about 1 hour south on Highway 99. Served by all major airlines with daily flights from most US cities.
